With my background rooted in 24-hour broadcast news, video remains my specialty. However, in recent years my focus has shifted to telling stories in a variety of formats to demonstrate impact on behalf of a national non-profit organization. Earlier in my career, I shot and edited all of my own video. Now, I work closely with small, expert film crews — drafting creative briefs, outlining and/or writing scripts and overseeing production and post-production. Here is a sampling of some of my recent work:

'Life or death depended on the news'

This mini-doc is part of a series I produced for a campaign to attract individual donors to join the News Literacy Project’s Visionary Circle, a group of philanthropists committed to ensuring future generations have access to news literacy education. Holocaust survivor and NLP board member Eva Haller personally experienced the brutal consequences of disinformation. Conspiratorial Thinking (trailer)

Released in January 2021, “Conspiratorial Thinking” is NLP's newest Checkology lesson. I oversaw production and post-production of the lesson’s instructional videos, which was accomplished remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic. Given the lesson’s timeliness, I suggested to NLP’s communications team that we create our first lesson trailer to give educators, the public and the media a feel of what “Conspiratorial Thinking” was all about. Working with our vendor, Actual Size, I scripted the trailer and identified which sections to highlight.
