In 2018, as the organization entered its 10th year, I worked with the Additive Agency in Brooklyn to develop an updated visual identity system to better reflect NLP’s mission. The project included the creation of a new logo, tagline, color palette, typography and graphic elements including illustration, iconography and data visualization.
The logo evokes the process of bringing information into focus, with the square echoing the portal through which journalists convey information and the public consumes it. The dots suggest the rapidly evolving nature of news and the process of separating fact from fiction.
Since our redesign in 2018, I have worked with the visual designer on my team to adapt and update the brand standards as the organization has evolved and expanded.
